Landscaped Gardens (2014: Still looking beautiful! See photo galleries)

gardens-gumusluk-villaMy wife Val visited the Villa last week. One of the first things she noticed when she arrived was how well the gardens had matured.

The whole site is landscaped and a number of the orginal olive trees and mediterranean oaks were kept as part of the delelopment. There are three gardeners employed to look after the grounds and they planted innumerable shrubs and flowers when the site was first landscaped about two years ago. The vines are now climbing up the sides of the villa and over the pergolas and the bougainvillea has now climbed half way up the side of the villa. Numerous other flowering shrubs have covered the ground behind the villa.

Even last spring the succulents were a mass of small purple flowers around the top of the amphitheatre; next spring the display will be even better.
